Birth Debriefing/Listening
Some birth stories stay with us longer than we expected.
Whether your birth felt empowering, confusing, disappointing or traumatic, birth reflection offers space to explore your experience without judgement.
Pregnancy Bodywork may be beneficial if you are experiencing:
Pelvic girdle pain or pubic symphysis pain (SPD)
Hip, lower back or sacroiliac discomfort
Rib or diaphragm tension
Neck, shoulder or jaw tightness
Round ligament discomfort
General muscular tension
Sleep discomfort
Anxiety, overwhelm or difficulty relaxing
A desire to prepare both body and mind for birth
Many women also choose Pregnancy Bodywork simply as an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with their changing body and feel supported during a significant season of life.
Who is Pregnancy Bodywork for?
Your first appointment begins with time to talk. We'll discuss your pregnancy, your current symptoms, your birth preferences and what you hope to gain from the session. Treatment is never rushed, and you are encouraged to ask questions, change positions or pause at any time.
The bodywork itself is slow, gentle and always guided by your comfort. Throughout the session we may also explore breathing, nervous system regulation and body awareness techniques that you can continue to use throughout pregnancy and during labour.
Every session is trauma-aware, consent-based and tailored specifically to you.
What happens during a session?
Pregnancy Bodywork appointments are offered from MAMA Services in Kensington, Melbourne, providing a calm, welcoming and supportive space for women throughout pregnancy.
