Internal Pelvic Release
Internal Pelvic Release is a gentle, hands-on bodywork session designed to support greater awareness, comfort and ease through the pelvic floor and surrounding tissues. It may include internal vaginal touch, alongside external work through areas such as the hips, sacrum, abdomen, glutes, jaw and thighs.
The intention is not to force the body to “release” or to push through discomfort. The work is slow, collaborative and guided by your feedback at every stage. You remain in control throughout the session, and any internal work is completely optional.
This service may be suitable for people who are:
preparing for birth and wanting to become more familiar with their pelvic floor
experiencing a sense of tightness, guarding or disconnection through the pelvis
wanting support following pregnancy or birth
exploring pelvic tension alongside jaw, hip or lower-back tension
preparing emotionally and physically for vaginal birth
seeking gentle support around previous pelvic procedures, difficult examinations or birth experiences
wanting to build confidence communicating their needs, boundaries and preferences around touch
Who is Internal Pelvic Release for?
What happens during a session?
Your appointment begins with a conversation about what has brought you in, what you are hoping for and anything that may help you feel more comfortable. We will discuss consent, boundaries and the different options available before any hands-on work begins.
A session may include grounding, breath awareness, external bodywork, supported positioning and gentle internal pelvic floor contact. There is no expectation that internal work must occur. You can pause, change position, ask questions or withdraw consent at any time.
My approach is trauma-aware, unhurried and responsive. The focus is on helping you feel informed, respected and connected to your body rather than achieving a particular outcome.
Internal Pelvic Release sessions are held at MAMA Services in Kensington, Melbourne.
Internal Pelvic Release is not a replacement for medical care, pelvic health physiotherapy or treatment from your maternity care provider. Where appropriate, I may recommend seeking additional assessment or support.
